Numerous hadiths prove that Ayatul kursi is the greatest verse of the Holy Qur'an because in it the monotheism of the Almighty is described as the greatness and attributes of Allah. This is the verse of the Qur'an which has been recited by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) frequently and has repeatedly emphasized the Companions and the Muslim Ummah to recite it. For example, after five prayers, at night before sleeping, Prophet Muhammad said to recite the Ayatul kursi for protection. Therefore, every Muslim should try his best to adopt it as a wazifa to get the blessings of this verse. Ayat-ul-Kursi is verse number two hundred and fifty-five (255) of Surah Al-Baqarah,  which is commonly called Ayat-ul-Kursi. This is probably the most famous verse of the Noble Qur'an.

You may have heard only one or two virtues of Ayat-ul-Kursi, some of the miracles of Ayat-ul-Kursi which are mentioned by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in his various hadiths. We claim that you will make it a habit to recite Ayatul Kursi after knowing these miracles. Ayat-ul-Kursi is the longest and highest verse of the Holy Qur'an. According to a narration, the name of Allah is called Ism e Azam meaning the greatest name is present in this verse and the characteristic of the Greatest Name is that when supplication is made to Allah through it, Allah Almighty accepts it, so make it a part of your prayers.

اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، زندہ ہے سب کا تھامنے والا، نہ اس کو اونگھ دبا سکتی ہے نہ نیند، آسمانوں اور زمین میں جو کچھ بھی ہے سب اسی کا ہے، ایسا کون ہے جو اس کی اجازت کے سوا اس کے ہاں سفارش کر سکے، تمام حاضر اور غائب حالات کو جانتا ہے، اور سب اس کی معلومات میں سے کسی چیز کا احاطہ نہیں کر سکتے مگر جتنا کہ وہ چاہے، اس کی کرسی سب آسمانوں اور زمین پر حاوی ہے، اور اللہ کو ان دونوں کی حفاظت کچھ گراں نہیں گزرتی، اور وہی سب سے برتر عظمت والا ہے۔

اَللَّـهُ لَآ اِلٰـهَ اِلَّا هُوَۚ اَ لْحَىُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ ۚ لَا تَاْخُذُهٝ سِنَةٌ وَّّلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَّـهٝ مَا فِى السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِ ۗ مَنْ ذَا الَّـذِىْ يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهٝٓ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ اَيْدِيْهِـمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُـمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهٓ ٖ اِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُوْدُهٝ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِـىُّ الْعَظِـيْمُ

There is no deity except Allah. the Ever-Living,  the Sustainer of all existence. Neither drowsiness  overtakes Him nor sleep. Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth belongs to Allah. Anyone is  there, who can intercede with Him except by His permission? Allah knows the hidden and seen. and anyone cannot estimate the knowledge of things except for what Allah wills. The  throne of Allah extends over the heavens and the earth. and  the preservation of heavens and the earth is easy for him,  and Allah is the Greatest. or

There is no god but Allah - the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him Nor Sleep. His are all things In the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede In His presence except As he permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass Aught of his knowledge Except as He willeth. His throne doth extend Over the heavens And on earth, and He feeleth No fatigue in guarding And preserving them, For He is the Most High. The Supreme (in glory).

 Ayatul kursi benefits

The Messenger of God, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, states in the glory of Ayat-ul-Kursi that whoever recites Ayat-ul-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, there will be no obstacle for him to go to Paradise except death.

Its virtues are many which are mentioned at the end of this book (Baqiyat-ul-Salihat) and here we will mention only its benefits.

  1. Reciting it after every obligatory prayer will increase rizq.
  2. Reciting every morning and evening is a means of protection from thieves, robbers and arson.
  3. Praying it every day after the obligatory prayers is a protection from snakes, scorpions and a means of protection from the harm of jinns.
  4. If it is written and buried in the field, it will be protected from theft and loss and it will be blessed.
  5. If it is written and kept in the shop, then will be blessed with barqat.
  6. Writing it down at home is a great way to prevent theft.
  7. If someone recites it before he dies, will see his place in paradise.
  8. Reciting it every night while sleeping is a cause of protection from paralysis.
